Babbacombe Cricket Club's Awards Night 2023
On the crisp evening of Saturday, November 11th, 2023, Babbacombe Cricket Club gathered at Walls Hill, the heart of their cricketing endeavors, for a momentous occasion - the first-ever combined end-of-season awards for both the colts and seniors sections. Hosted by the charismatic Paul Bates, the event was a celebration of cricketing achievements, camaraderie, and the promise of a bright future for the club.
The evening commenced with an opening address from the absent Cricket Manager, Ron Thomson, who, though regretfully unable to attend, sent his heartfelt apologies. Chairman Nick Goodwin also shared a few words, setting the stage for an evening that would unite the club in celebration.

The junior awards stole the spotlight initially, shining a light on the emerging cricketing talents within the club. Coaches Henry Stubbs, Will Backholer, and Nathan Snape played a pivotal role in presenting the awards, highlighting the dedication and progress made by the young cricketers throughout the season. The prestigious Steve Redding Trophy for Junior Player of the Year was rightfully awarded to Jacob M, showcasing his exceptional skills and commitment to the sport.

Following the junior awards, an impressive buffet was laid out, providing a delightful interlude for all attendees. It was a moment to reflect on the accomplishments of the colts and energise for the senior awards to come.
